Tina Fey and Amy Poehler Want to Remind You 'Star Wars' Isn't The Only Movie Opening That Day

Dec 03, 2015

It seems like Star Wars: The Force Awakens is all anyone can think about or talk about it or even look at now that we're two weeks out from its release. But did you know it's not the only movie opening in theaters on December 18th? It's true! Other movies will continue to exist in its shadow. Sisters, a new comedy from Pitch Perfect director Jason Moore starring Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, also opens in wide release on that day, and they've just released a new video to remind people of that.

In the video, Fey, Poehler and the rest of their cast (which includes Maya Rudolph and Ike Barinholtz) get delightfully meta and pretend that their little movie, about two sisters who throw one last party in their childhood home, has a rich legacy and a ton of fancy special effects, just like that one movie opening opposite them.

It's a fun way to acknowledge, "Hey, you don't have to only see Star Wars on opening weekend. You can see both movies!" Plus, it's got some cheeky cameos in it of people who are not actually in Sisters. Check it out.
