Watch: What 'The Hobbit' Would Look Like if It Were Just One Movie

Dec 08, 2014

While fans continue to debate whether The Hobbit should've been one movie or two movies instead of three movies, the fact remains that it is indeed three movies and the last of 'em (The Battle of the Five Armies) hits theaters on December 17. Of course, once all three of these films are on Blu-ray, you can watch 'em all back-to-back-to-back if you want to experience the trilogy in one sitting, but for those who don't feel like spending upwards of eight or nine hours in Middle-earth, we've got a much shorter version for ya.

YouTuber Joel Walden wanted to see what The Hobbit would look like as one movie, and so he edited together this trailer that envisioned Bilbo's adventure as one complete installment instead of three. He says, "With Peter Jackson’s final chapter in the ‘Middle Earth Saga’, 'The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies' hitting theatres worldwide next week, I thought it would be fun to create a trailer that promotes his cinematic retelling of ‘The Hobbit’ as a single epic piece."

Regardless of how many movies you think it should've been, this is a pretty cool trailer reminding you that all the Hobbit movies are most definitely worth watching.
