Crazy Stupid Love

Battle of the Sexes: Steve Carell and Emma Stone are set to star in Battle of the Sexes, based on a well-publicized tennis match in 1973 between Bobby Riggs and Billie Jean King. Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Ferris will direct; they worked with Carell on 2006's Little Miss Sunshine, while Carell and Stone appeared together in 2011's Crazy Stupid Love. Simon Beaufoy (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire) wrote the script. Two other similar projects are in development; this one is aiming for release next year. [Deadline]

The Entity

The Entity: Director James Wan (Furious 7) will produce a remake of The Entity, a 1982 horror movie about a woman (Barbara Hershey) who comes under physical and sexual attack by a demon. The woman must also deal with a doctor (Ron Silver) who doubts her supernatural account; the tale is inspired by a true story. Wan will reunite with writers Chad and Carey Hayes, who worked with him on 2013's The Conjuring. [Heat Vision]

The People Under the Stairs

The People Under the Stairs: Wes Craven's The People Under the Stairs is heading to television, specifically the SyFy channel. The 1991 social horror movie followed an African-American kid who gets stranded in a creepy house in a run-down neighborhood owned by a creepy couple. Craven will also write and direct the pilot epiode for We Are All Completely Fine, a tale about a psychologist and a support group for survivors of horror movie scenarios. [Variety]

The Overnight

The Overnight Trailer: In The Overnight, Jason Schwartzman invites Adam Scott and Taylor Schilling to bring their young child over for dinner with him and his family. After the kids go to bed, Schwartzman and his lady love (Judith Godrèche) invite the couple to join them in more adult activities that are best suited for viewing in the first trailer below. The comedy opens in select theaters on June 19. [Yahoo!]
