Ted 2

Ted 2: Mark Wahlberg shared a photo of himself from Ted 2, now in production. Wahlberg sits astride an Indian Scout motorcycle; devoted fans will note the logo for Flash Gordon, a key reference in the first film. Ted 2 is heading for release on June 26, 2015. [Twitter via Collider]

Zoolander 2: Ben Stiller and Justin Theroux have completed a script for Zoolander 2, which includes the return of fashion executive Mugatu, played by Will Ferrell. The news was first reported in January 2011 (?!), but more recently Theroux has said things may finally be moving forward, and now Ferrell says: "We are actually supposed to do a read-through of a sequel script soon." So, not much, we're afraid, but at least a glimmer of hope for those of us who'd love to see more Zoolander zaniness. [The Hollywood Reporter]

Life of Pi

Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk: Ang Lee (Life of Pi) is under consideration to direct Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk, based on Ben Fountain's dark, satirical novel about a young soldier's service during the Iraq War. Lee is still making preparations for a large-scale 3D movie that revolves around the "Thrilla in Manilla" championship boxing match between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier, but may have time to make a more intimate film before that happens. Effie Gray

Effie Gray Trailer: Emma Thompson and Dakota Fanning star in Effie Gray, a period drama. Thompson also wrote the screenplay, which focuses on a romantic triangle that develops between Fanning, her art-critic husband (Greg Wise), and a handsome artist (Tom Sturridge). The first trailer spins a tragic tale; it's due in theaters in November. [Movies Coming Soon]
