Movie News: Channing Tatum Says 'Gambit' Is Starting Over; 'Deadpool' Actor Joins New 'Hellboy'

Gambit: Channing Tatum (Logan Lucky, above) was first attached to X-Men spinoff Gambit back in 2014. What's the current status? Tatum says: "We were trying to do something completely different. ... We kept running into the same problems, and then Deadpool and Logan came through and kicked the doors down. Now we’re really getting to do some of the things we’ve always wanted to do with the script -- we’ve just sort of started over.” [Hey U Guys]



Hellboy: Ed Skrein (Deadpool, above) has joined the cast of Hellboy. He will portray Major Ben Daimio, a member of the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense who can turn into a jaguar under the right circumstances. David Harbour, Ian McShane and Milla Jovovich are all set to star in the movie, which aims to begin production under the direction of Neil Marshall next month. [THR]


The Great Wall

The Equalizer 2: Pedro Pascal (The Great Wall, above) is in negotiations to play the primary villain opposite Denzel Washington in The Equalizer 2. Washington will reprise his role as Robert McCall, who springs to the defense of innocent people who can't defend themselves, drawing upon his past military training. Antoine Fuqua will once again direct. [Variety]



Suburbicon Trailer: Matt Damon comes under suspicion for the death of his wife in Suburbicon. The new trailer also showcases the roles played by Julianne Moore and Oscar Isaac. George Clooney directed; the dark comedy will open in theaters on October 27. [Movieclips]
