The Post

The Post: Steven Spielberg's The Post has been named best film of the year by National Board of Review; Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep were also recognized as Best Actor and Best Actress, respectively, for their performances in the highly-charged drama. Other award winners included Greta Gerwig (Best Director, Lady Bird), Willem Dafoe (Best Supporting Actor, The Florida Project) and Coco (Best Animated Feature). [National Board of Review]

Captain America: Civil War

Avengers 4: Jeremy Renner (above in Captain America: Civil War) shared a photo on social media, picturing himself in character as Hawkeye, on set for Avengers 4 (below). At the end of Captain America: Civil War, Hawkeye was imprisoned, but he returns in Captain America: Infinity War, due in theaters on May 4, 2018, and appears to have survived the battle against the villainous Thanos, at least long enough to show up in the fourth installment. Avengers 4 is slated for release on May 3, 2019. [Instagram via Cinema Blend]

Scooby Doo

Daphne and Velma: In Scooby-Doo (2002), Daphne and Velma were portrayed by Sarah Michelle Gellar and Linda Cardellini (above). Now a new teaming of the iconic characters is in production. Sarah Jeffery and Sarah Gilman star in Daphne and Velma, a live-action origin story that begins when the teens team up for the first time to solve a big mystery: why are the brightest students in school disappearing, only to return "in a zombie-fied state"? The movie will be released next year. [Deadline]

Nick Robinson

Love, Simon Trailer: Nick Robinson (above) stars in Love, Simon as a teenager who's fallen for a classmate online. As the first trailer explains, though, he faces two big challenges: no one knows he's gay and he doesn't know the identity of his new love. Jennifer Garner and Josh Duhamel also star; the romantic drama will open in theaters on March 16, 2018. [Movieclips]
