The Flash

The Flash: Seth Grahame-Smith, who was attached to make his feature directing debut with superhero movie The Flash, has departed the project due to "creative differences." Grahame-Smith (Dark Shadows, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) also wrote the screenplay, based on a treatment by Phil Lord and Christopher Miler (The Lego Movie). The plan is to retain the script and find a new director; Ezra Miller is still set to star. The movie is scheduled for release on March 16, 2018. [THR]

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Justice League Part One: Jeremy Irons, who portrayed Batman's extremely capable assistant (and butler) Alfred in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (above), says he will reprise his role in Justice League Part One. The movie is currently filming in London under the direction of Zack Snyder and will be released in theaters on November 17, 2017. [Showbiz 411]

13 Hours

Jack Ryan: John Krasinski will star in the proposed Amazon series Jack Ryan as the titular character. The series, to be set in the modern day, will follow Ryan as a CIA analyst and operative in his prime, drawing from Tom Clancy's novels. The character has previously been played on the big screen by Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck and Chris Pine. Krasinski will be reuniting with producer Michael Bay; the two recently worked together on the thriller 13 Hours. [Deadline]

Captain Fantastic

Captain Fantastic Trailer: Viggo Mortensen stars in Captain Fantastic as a father raising his six children in a remote forest. As the first trailer reveals, things get complicated after his wife (and their mother) dies. Kathryn Hahn, Steve Zahn and Frank Langella also star; the movie will open in theaters on July 8.
