Colin Trevorrow

Star Wars: Episode IX: Director Colin Trevorrow (Jurassic World) says that Star Wars: Episode IX will be shot on film stock rather than on digital equipment. "It’s a period film,” he joked. “It happened a long time ago." He added: "There’s something in my brain that says, ‘Well, they didn’t have video cameras then." The movie is scheduled for release in 2019. [Variety]

Mama Sequel: A sequel to horror thriller Mama is on its way from Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch, who cowrote and directed the critically-acclaimed indie drama Starry Eyes. The duo is in final negotiations to rewrite and direct the sequel. The low-budget original starred Jessica Chastain (above) and revolved around two young sisters and an evil force; it became an unexpected hit at the box office after its release in 2013. [THR]

Cabin Fever

Cabin Fever Remake: A new image has been released from Cabin Fever, a remake based on the screenplay for Eli Roth's 2002 horror chiller. As in the original, five friends head to a cabin in the woods on vacation, only to fall victim to a flesh-eating virus. Gage Golightly, Matthew Daddario, Samuel Davis, Nadine Crocker and Dustin Ingram star. The movie will open in theaters on February 12. [Bloody Disgusting]

The Bronze

The Bronze Trailer: A new trailer for The Bronze teases the raunchy comedy. Melissa Rauch stars as a retired gymnastics bronze medalist who lives in a small town and becomes jealous when a younger athlete's rising stardom threatens to eclipse her own. Gary Cole and Haley Lu Richardson also star; look for the movie in theaters on March 18. [Movieclips]
