Movie News: 'Doctor Strange' Gets a 'Martian' Sidekick; Watch Vince Vaughn in First 'Term Life' Trailer

Doctor Strange: Benedict Wong, who portrayed the director of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Ridley Scott's The Martian, will join the cast of Marvel's Doctor Strange, now in production. He will play a character named Wong, described as a multitalented sidekick to the good doctor (Benedict Cumberbatch). Rachel McAdams, Tilda Swinton, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Mads Mikkelsen also star; the movie is heading for release on November 4. [THR]



Avatar 2: Reportedly, James Cameron's Avatar 2 will not be ready in time for its planned release on December 25, 2017. The movie, the first in a trilogy of sequels, was originally pencilled in for December 2016. It's not known when production might begin on the trio of movies, which will be shot at the same time in New Zealand. Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana will reprise their starring roles in the science fiction adventures. [The Wrap]


Step Brothers

Border Patrol Comedy: Adam McKay, whose financial drama The Big Short received five Academy Award nominations, is eyeing a return to comedy with the stars of his 2008 movie Step Brothers. "I’m actually talking with [Will] Ferrell and John C. Reilly about doing a comedy about two guys who go down to defend America's borders against the immigrants, and I’m pretty excited about it,” McKay said. Term Life

Term Life Trailer: Vince Vaughn stars as a criminal mastermind trying to protect his daughter (Hailee Steinfeld) from vengeful gangsters in Term Life. The first trailer sets up the premise and also showcases a strong supporting cast, including Bill Paxton, Terence Howard, Jonathan Banks and Jon Favreau. The movie will open in theaters on April 8.
