George Clooney and Ti West Assemble Two Great Casts for Two Very Different Movies

Oct 29, 2012

George Clooney is ready to direct his fourth feature film, a drama entitled The Monuments Men, and Clooney will have some A-list talent starring alongside him when the film goes before cameras next March.

Deadline reports that the cast includes not only Clooney, but Daniel Craig, Bill Murray, Cate Blanchett, Jean Dujardin, John Goodman, Hugh Bonneville and Bob Balaban. That’s quite the cast…

Based on a Robert Edsel book entitled The Monuments Men: Allied Heroes, Nazi Thieves, and the Greatest Treasure Hunt in History, the film will focus on a group of art historians and museum curators trying to save precious works of art stolen by the Nazis during the course of World War II. Sounds interesting to us.

Meanwhile, in news that’s more fitting with the Halloween mood this week, we’ve learned that Ti West has announced the cast of his newest chiller – a horror film titled The Sacrament.

While plot details have yet to be revealed, we do know that the film will feature performances from Joe Swanberg, AJ Bowen, Kentucker Audley, Amy Seimetz and Gene Jones.

Worldview Entertainment is producing the film, with Eli Roth presenting. The idea of Roth and West uniting is an interesting one, given their history with the Cabin Fever franchise (Roth directed the original, West fought to have his name removed from the sequel). We’ll bring you more on The Sacrament as details are revealed.
