In Fences, Denzel Washington returns to the director's chair for only the fourth time in his career. It's based on a play by August Wilson that won a Pulitzer Prize and multiple Tony Awards, revolving around a sanitation worker in Pittsburgh who is haunted by his dream as a young man to become a professional baseball player, at a time before the major leagues were integrated.

Washington starred with Viola Davis in a Broadway revival of the play in 2010, which won Tony Awards for both of them. The two are reprising their roles in the movie and are featured in the first official photo, via The Hollywood Reporter (top).

Russell Hornsby, Mykelti Williamson and Stephen McKinley Henderson (above with Washington) are also reprising their roles from the revival. Wilson wrote the screenplay before he died in 2005. The movie opens in theaters on December 25.

A new promotional photo from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story features Felicity Jones as Jyn Erso, who ends up leading a dangerous mission to steal plans of the evil Death Star.

December 16 is the theatrical launch date for the first Star Wars spin-off movie.

Tom Holland shared a new behind the scenes photo from Spider-Man: Homecoming on social  media. It shows a different, darker view of the costumed character; in Holland's words, he looks like a "badass."

We've heard that Spider-Man: Homecoming takes inspiration from John Hughes' teen movies but clearly it's embracing a broader palette. We can't wait to see how everything comes together. Robert Downey Jr., Marisa Tomei, Jon Favreau and Michael Keaton also star. It opens in theaters on July 7, 2017.
