When Life Was Good Details

A group of young quasi-bohemians struggle with romances, careers, and emotions in Canadian director Terry Miles' quietly ironic comedy drama. Aspiring actress Brooklyn (Kristine Cofsky) has just returned home from studying abroad in order to celebrate her boyfriend Ben's birthday. Her best friend Faith (Keri Horton) has recently put her dancing aspirations on hold in hopes that she can salvage her relationship with budding, screenwriter boyfriend Casey (Casey Manderson). Faith and Casey shared the kind of giddy fresh love that's often doomed to go stale once exposed to the air of the outside world, but the early rush was so good that Faith is willing to work at the relationship. When Brooklyn sneaks into Ben's apartment intending to surprise him, she sees something that disturbs her for reasons that aren't entirely clear to anyone - including herself. Quickly covering her tracks and slipping out of the apartment unnoticed, Brooklyn makes the decision to temporarily move in with Faith and Casey. It isn't long before, Faith's overbearing, stagehand mom decides to drop by for a visit, complicating matters even further among this youthful set of urbanites. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
