FULL SYNOPSIS
The title of this film should probably be translated as "The Grass Is Always Greener On The Other Side," but literally it reads It's So Much Nicer Wherever We Are Not. In the story, Jerzy (Miroslav Baka) is a resident of Warsaw who has decided to try and make his way out to the West. He hopes to wind up in the U.S. Instead, he finds himself in Berlin doing low-skill, under-the-counter work, just barely scraping by and living on the edge. There, he runs into an acquaintance of his, a woman who is attempting the same transition - only her low-skill work is prostitution. Despite some initial attraction, their impoverished circumstances prevent them from developing the relationship much further. ~ Clarke Fountain, Rovi
