Playing off the themes of the famous and , this merry farce starts out with a Russian sailor Dimitri (Tom Doukoupil) skipping ship in the port of Hamburg to go look for his brother who settled in Hamburg long ago, and has not been in touch with Dimitri for four years. Although the ship is not the Potemkin, it conjures up the idea of the military (the sailor) rebelling against orders when the cause is humane and underscores the sailor's "Russian" identity.
