Indy: The First Reviews

With the release of
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull just two weeks away, the first reviews are starting to trickle in. The consensus: There isn't one. One Ain't It Cool News reviewer likes it; two others slag the acting, the special effects and the dialogue. From the positive reviewer: "
Crystal Skull is the (third) best (movie) in the franchise, (but it) can't top
Raiders," it features the "best chase scene of all the movies," the acting is "good across the board" and, overall, it's: "Pretty. Damn. Good." On the other side: It is "the
Indiana movie that you were dreading," the jungle set "looks like plastic," it never feels like the characters are in any real danger,
Harrison Ford has "a few lines that work and a million that don't,"
Cate Blanchett is the worst villain of the franchise and
Shia LaBeouf is "horrible." A bit of good news:
4 does answer the question of whether LaBeouf's Mutt is Indy's son though that's a spoiler we'll let you find out on your own.
