Teleften Apostoli Details

  • Runtime: 1 hr. 21 min.

The Last Mission was originally distributed in Greece as Teleften Apostoli. Told in flashback, the film offers the events leading to a murder. The victim was a Greek housewife; the murderer, her daughter. It turns out that the victim had been a Nazi collaborator during WW II, who not only sold her country down the river, but also betrayed her underground-fighter husband. Thus, the daughter takes up her slain father's cudgel in peacetime, no matter how much it hurts. For reasons unknown, The Last Mission was released in the U.S. minus English-language subtitles or dubbing, in other words (and, sorry, there are no other words), it was all Greek to the audience. The film was adapted by director Nikos Tsiferou from his own novel. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi
