FULL SYNOPSIS
This film documents one of the many evanescent conjunctions of lifestyle and technology: the 8-track music cassette player, and those who remain or have become avid supporters of it. Hugely popular in the '70s, having an 8-track in your car was the epitome of with-it-ness. Even though the technology for these tape players had a number of drawbacks, there is a small but fanatical group which today claims that 8-tracks give sound quality superior to that of CDs. Music recorded in the heyday of the 8-track ranges from disco (The Village People) to what was then considered hard rock (Kiss), and aficionados celebrate their cherished machines and memories here. ~ Clarke Fountain, Rovi
