The Ride to Wounded Knee


This documentary attempts to tell the story of what happened at Wounded Knee in December 1890, when a troop of U.S. Army Cavalry descended on a "wild" band of 150 unarmed Lakota women, children, and elders, and massacred over a hundred of them. This site, known throughout the U.S.'s Native populations as "Greasy Grass," has become a shrine for all who feel that the policies of the time were unconscionable, as well as serving as a rallying point for Native American activists.
