Ricky Rosen's Bar Mitzvah Details

FULL SYNOPSIS

This lively comedy lampoons the materialism that has come to overshadow the religious significance of a sacred rite of passage. Ricky Rosen is 12-years-old. A quiet and serious fellow, Ricky begins thinking deeply about the world around him and he asks some profound questions of family and friends. Unfortunately, they have become so wrapped up in throwing Ricky a boffo Bar Mitzvah in order to impress their peers and earn Ricky a pile of cash, that they have little time for philosophy. The only voice of spiritual reason Ricky hears comes from his poor Uncle Herman, who explains the significance of the ritual. In between the preparations and Ricky's confusion, many odd-characters and strange situations occur until the big day finally arrives. ~ Sandra Brennan, Rovi
