Ramblin' Gal Details

FULL SYNOPSIS

Ruby is a feminist, and an ardent one at that. No amount of name-calling or persuasion is going to change her allegiance. She is also a folk-singer, and although Kansas is nice enough, it's no place to start a music career. She heads off to her eccentric uncle's place in New York City and tries to break into the record business there. Everyone wants her to soften the feminist edge to her lyrics before they'll take her seriously, and this she will not do. The city has its own surprises for her, like getting arrested for prostitution while simply walking down 42nd Street. This modest independent feature took almost nine years to shoot, and was well received by movie-industry reviewers. ~ Clarke Fountain, Rovi
