FULL SYNOPSIS

[[Performer~P202125~Abolfazi Jalili~abolfazljalili]] directed this Iranian drama in Turkmen, Arabic, and English languages. Made in 1991, the film was held back from release by Iranian authorities until 1998. Minus much dialogue and seen through the eyes of an 11-year-old boy, the drama looks at daily routines in a parched and remote community of Iranian mud-brickmakers. Young Llia ([[Performer~P242482~Mahmood Khosravi~mahmoodkhosravi]]) runs across the barren, dusty landscape, where villagers hope for rain. Eventually, the youth falls into a friendship with a girl, Limua ([[Performer~P242483~Limua Rahi~limuarahi]]), the daughter of a seasonal worker. When the rains finally arrive, Limua and her mother head home. Shown at 1998 film festivals at Locarno and Montreal. ~ Bhob Stewart, Rovi
