Synopsis
The notoriety of the Ingrid Bergman-Roberto Rossellini liaison resulted in the release of several heretofore obscure Swedish Bergman films in the U.S. One of these, originally filmed in 1935 as Ocean Breakers, finally made it to American screens in 1949 as The Surf. In her second screen appearance, Bergman plays Karin, the daughter of a fisherman. During a raging storm, a young pastor is forced to stay in the fisherman's house during his absence.
