FULL SYNOPSIS

Many people do not know that Japanese real-estate zoning is such that to this day there are farms in and around Tokyo; and where there are farms, there are peasants. In 1966, when the Japanese government decided to build a larger airport near Narita, they didn't bother to consult with the peasants whose land and farms they would be seizing for the project. This so infuriated them that they unanimously formed a resistance movement that kept the government from proceeding for four years. This absorbing documentary film chronicles the story of that movement from start to finish. ~ Clarke Fountain, Rovi
