In that respect, the title has dual meanings, referring to both the film's "Shoah"-like survivors' testimony and the fact that the gay community was there for one another at a time that government and medicine were slow to respond.

Excellent and thoughtful film! by bambaby7
It is really hard to make a film about HIV not depressing but this movie succeeded. It is emotional without being depressing. This movie gave a really personal feeling to something I was too young to experience. The director did a Q&A afterwards and he was as great as the movie. I recommend seeing this film.
