Layers of intrigue mesh with Hollywood-style efficiency, pitting sincere feelings against ruthlessly mercenary machinations. Also in Hollywood style, sincerity and integrity carry the day.

If you love to hate the superrich, The Valet, a delectable comedy in which the great French actor Daniel Auteuil portrays a piggy billionaire industrialist facing his comeuppance, is a sinfully delicious bonbon.

Francis Veber's latest offering, remains faithful to the formula -- broad farce leavened with witty dialogue -- that has made him France's most bankable comedy writer-director and a surefire hit with international audiences.

fun and surprising by nmcclymont
What can I say? I had no idea this was a French film when I went to go see The Valet. I knew Kristin Scott Thomas was an English actress, but after it began I recalled that she resides in France. Great fun! I recognized a few actors from both American and foreign films, all were just right for their roles. Definitely laugh out loud funny. As light as it was, no character was one dimensional- that is a feat!

Hillarious french underdog story with a twist... by pzoder78
This movie is a welcome addition to this summer's blockbuster sequel extravaganza. A little originality is actually quite refreshing for a change! :) The acting is superb, the main characters have the ability to draw you into their lifes completely. Even the supporting roles - the sick doctor, the obnoxious cell phone guy, the greasy lawyer...all bring their own strengths into this overall great-chemistry cast.

Funny Film by crescent_twin
"The Valet" was a cute and incredibly funny film. It helps to go with someone who speaks French, as some lines were left out and some of the jokes are lost in translation. Good date film.
