Violent torture thriller puts blame on the media.
What Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that this violent thriller features several long, disturbing scenes of torture -- bodies are bloodied, burned, dissolved in acid, and nearly decapitated by whirling blades. Other upsetting scenes feature Tasering, shooting, and a threat against a young girl, as well as plenty of images of dead bodies. All of this is framed within an argument against easy access to images of violence and abuse via the Internet, but that doesn't make it any less disturbing. Language includes repeated uses of "f--k" and other profanity.
- Families can talk about the arguments for and against policing content on the Internet. How can you keep children safe from certain sites and users without unnecessarily censoring what adults can see? Should someone be in charge of what is and isn't OK to put online? If so, who? What to watch for
-
Violence: Incessant violence (on computer screens and "live") committed by the serial killer, who tortures victims in front of a Web cam. These scenes are bloody, loud, and variously creepy: one involves the death of a kitten, while others show poisoning/bleeding, burning by sunlamps, bodily immersion in a vat of acid, and suspension over roaring lawnmower-style blades. The killer uses a Taser to zap his victims unconscious. SWAT teams burst into a couple of suspects' homes. Frequent tense moments as characters make their way through dark shadows. Plenty of guns wielded by agents -- and shot at suspect. Repeated viewing of a graphic scene in which a man shoots his head off. References to terrorism and using the Internet to publicize violence. Verbal references to a cop killed on the job, and several references to sex-related crimes (soliciting children online, for instance).
-
Sex: Some brief shots of porn Web sites on FBI computer monitors; images of "bondage" found in one suspect's home are shown briefly. A couple of non-explicit shower scenes suggest a woman's vulnerability (camera hovers outside shower or above her crouched form). Passing references to a male flirting with a "men's chorus soprano."
-
Language: Many uses of "f--k," in addition to frequent instances of other language ("s--t," "damn," "hell," "ass," etc.) In one instance, "f--k" is carved into a victim's chest.
-
Consumerism: Pepsi vending machine in cops' office.
-
Drinking, drugs and smoking: Not an issue

OK Thriller by smithpa-_movie_buff
The movie was an entertaining thriller but very predictable in its plotline. It doesn't have the "edge on my seat" anticipation about it but it's enjoyable. Plus it wasn't to gory.

UNTRACEABLE by mzinzi
I enjoyed this movie as it kept you in suspense. I would have liked to see more of an ending as I felt it ending too abruptly. But all in all I would say go see it, be your own judge.

Scary, Suspenseful and Fabulous! by Sara_From_Portland
I love murder mystery movies. The previews before this movie were scary and tense--they made Untraceable even more suspenseful! This is a great movie that is viewed best in a theater. B+

Untraceable by noelleC
OH MY GOD !!!!!!!! If you want SUSPENSE get to the theater ASAP. I will tell you it is Very Gruesome at times.
I left that theater and my stomach was in knots. I will never put my SS# in my computer for anything again. It is pretty scary to think that that sort of thing could really happen. Sadly there is CRAZY people in the world who would try to copycat this at home. (DISTURBING)
Go see it if you like "Nail Biters"!!!!!!!!!!

Untraceable by sterling movie
I went with my husband and another couple and we were on the edge of our seat during the entire movie. I know some critics (Gene Shalit) have given it negative reviews, but unless you are into "downer" stuff that is no fun for anyone but the reviewers to go by, then I suggest you go and enjoy "Untraceable". In my world of what I know about computers, it was completely believable and Diane Lane put in a great, believeable performance. I say defintly GO! I would not take children even, teenagers. It's definitly graphic and upsetting at times, so adults please make a note of that!

Untraceable-Fantastic by movie_freak87
When the trailer came out for this movie, I said I wanted to see it so bad. Just by the previews, I knew it was going to be suspensful and have the "edge of your seat" feeling. I was RIGHT!!! The movie was fantastic. I would see it again and again. I would recommend this movie to everyone. I would rate this movie a 6 out of a 5. It was that good. Diane Lane was the perfect person to play this part and she made a hit!!!

Best "cyber" movie in a long time! by 02gsxr600
There have been many attempts in Hollywood to create a movie based on today's technology, however they were so un-realistic (to me anyways, being in the IT Industry) that they were almost unwatchable. Swordfish, Hacker, etc - however this movie was very realistic and someone obviously did their homework about the way a network actual works which I found interesting! All the tech talk that most people wouldn't understand is really the way things work, and it the way it was filmed just didn't seem "hollywood"...
The story is much deeper than the previews show, it does have a lot to do with the world of technology we live in today, but it also goes much deeper into the charector's feelings, media, and a good overall horror movie!
After seeing this movie it really made me think about how easy this sort of thing could be done, and actually put a sense of fear in me that there will be copy cats out there, and a strong reminder of the world of terrorism we live in!

Untraceable was a great movie but it wasn't all that scary compared to how gruesome it was but I definitely enjoyed the plot.

The ending was predictable. Most of the movie went by slowly. It was entertaining though and worth a rental.
