The only things left out of The Single Moms Club are genuine humor and emotion.

This lame tale just falls completely flat.

As ever, he has the last laugh. This is How Stella Got Her Groove Back, for the Pop-Tart crowd, a wish-fulfillment weepie that not only narrowly clears Perry's low bar, thanks mostly to McLendon-Covey and Brown, but has already sold the TV sitcom rights to Oprah.

It's an improvement on some of Perry's other films that strike a heavy-handed moralistic note. And it lacks the silly slapstick humor of his Madea movies.

As with most of his films (Madea-centric and otherwise), subtlety isn’t Perry’s strongest suit. He tends to hammer his audience over the head with canned sentimentality, lazy stereotypes, and easy uplift.

One of the best products to roll off the prolific multihyphenate’s Atlanta-based assembly line, largely absent the pandering humor and finger-wagging moralism that have bedeviled many of Perry’s earlier (if undeniably popular) efforts.

Vivian's review by 3842
It is a very good movie. It's mainly a Women's movie but men can enjoy it also as well as learn from it. The best part is THERE IS NO SWEARING at all in it. My husband went with me and he said even he learned some lessons from it about how hard it is for single mom's and how they have to really struggle to raise their kids by themselves. It is a very enjoy able movie.

A definite must see!! by candacemarlene
There were so many scenes that were true to life. Situations where I could recall how I handled them. I laughed, I cried, and I had a really good time enjoying the moment. Finally someone gets it!!!

Single Mom's Club by Vmragland
Nice acknowledgement of the diversity of groups and variety of struggles faced by single moms. Great cast. Good story line. Disjointed script and character development. Plenty of eye candy for everyone. Fun to watch.

Amazing movie by babynessa80
This movie was truly on point and touched different topics of what a single mother goes through. I related in each character. Awesome movie. It's a must see especially for those single mommies out there

Great Movie by tsan4u
The Single Parent Ministry of Ebenezer AME Church went as a group to see Single Moms Club and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Tyler Perry did his research on the dynamics of the Single Parent Family. Single Moms from various domestic situations (widowed, divorced, single) can find themselves on the screen. We had a great time!

single moms club by GHEYA7
Very refreshing to see women behave in a mature fashion. Discussing issues that engulf their lives and affect their children most of all I appreciated the various lives depicted and how in the end no matter how independent or self sufficient one may be a MAN is still needed.

Great Movie! by Bianca114
Lots of laughter, realness and great moments. A must see whether a date night or with the girls. Hopefully Single Moms Clubs start up all over the world cause we definitely need support.
