David Wain, director of "Wet Hot American Summer," brings his popular brand of surrealist yet mundane humor to the big screen with more or less dreadful results.

The New York Times Jeannette Catsoulis

A "Decalogue" for special-ed students, The Ten leans too often toward the bizarre and the bewildering. And though rough sex is a recurring motif, the movie's overall tone is less blasphemous than raunchy.

Second feature from duo David Wain and Ken Marino of comedy group the State is, like their "Wet Hot American Summer," uneven but often hilarious.

Pure, Silly, Fun by RoseBud82
While this movie is certainly not for everyone, I recommend everyone go see because it's so different and wacky that you just might find something you like. The writing is great and original and all of the actors throw themselves into the insanity. If your tired of the same old comic formula then run to see this movie, it's freaking nuts.

THE TEN ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! by jacko7777
I have never seen seen a movie as wild and funny and crazy as this one. There's Wynona Ryder having an affair with a puppet! Adam Brody jumps out of a plane without a chute! Every scene is funnier than the next. The cast is unbelievable - Paul Rudd, Jessica Alba, Liev Schreiber, Olivaeer Plattt and on and one. Ans they are hysterical! I've told all my friends about this and those too stupid to go will have to wait till our next beer spring break and see the film on DVD. I am laughing sometimes just thinking about some of the scenes in the film. Can't wait to get the DVD so I can watch it a bunch of times with my buds.

Truly something original by brokethebox
This movie is completely unique and DEFINITELY HILARIOUS. I think it's a film that has something for anyone. The all-star cast is phenomenal and truly add their own special touches to each role. You will find yourself looking back on it and laughing and quoting the countless hilarious lines with your friends. This was definitely a refreshing movie experience.

The Ten by Kwaj
A quirky, comical, and off beat look at the 10 Commandments. Overall entertaining, but two stories do drag a bit.

Comic Genius by amadeodonofrio
The Ten is a fun fun movie. 10 vignettes each based on 1 of the 10 commandments. Each one is pretty quick so you never feel like the movie drags. Each story is set in contemporary times with characters that overlap each story. The cast is fantastic like always. If you're a fan of 'Wet Hot American Summer', 'The State', 'Stella', or 'Reno 911', you won't want to miss this. Who would have though that Winona Ryder could ever be funny again? After David Wain puts her in a cheap hotel room cheating on her husband with a puppet, and then cries with remorse as the cheesy power ballad soundtrack soars, it seems obvious.

I laughed so much I hurt myself by BigBunnyTexas
This is the must see film of the summer. You simply can't go wrong with that amazing cast, and talented director Daid Wain. If you don't see this film you simply won't be cool this summer.

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC by neonrose
This movie is obviously not for everyone. If you are religious, don't bother. But for the rest of us, it is simply amazing. The best, funniest movie I've seen in a long time. This is the kind of humor that I have. Like when my friends and I discuss things, this is how we discuss them. I'm not sure how a movie like this even got made, like who approved this script? It's just so outlandishly ridiculous and it's crazy that FINALLY someone has the same sense of humor that I do. For instance, I don't laugh out loud at movies. Sure I think they're funny, but I'm just not the laugh out loud type person. I was crying with laughter when I was watching this. I just can't express how amazing it is. An ABSOLUTE must see.

Funny, kept moving, somewhat choppy by HazyShadeOfWinter
If you're religious or offended by profanity, you'll not like this movie. It has little or nothing to do with religion except loosely using the ten commandments as an excuse to have ten short vignettes. The humor alternates between absurd, dry and ironic wit, and blatant crudeness. I found myself laughing out loud in several places, and then in others mildly bewildered that they stooped to bodily function humor when they'd done such clever humor the scene before. Overall, I enjoyed it. The style was fresh. I wouldn't wait overnight for it, but it makes a nice evening diversion.
