A particularly dull and discombobulated affair, shot and acted with all the flair of a basic-cable procedural. Patterson and Mandylor are so wooden that their cat-and-mouse game has all the excitement of watching dust bunnies swirl in an air current.

Saw V is a terrible combination: grisly and tedious. Let's just call it bloody dull.

The production values have become so horror-movie shoddy that Saw V has more in common with kitsch like "Friday the 13th Part V" than the original "Saw."

Yet another awesome saw by Zigs503
This movie was awesome!! although if your in it only for the blood and gore your probably going to be disappointed like a few of my friends.(not to say there's a lack of blood...trusts me) This series isn't about the blood and guts (they're just perks) its about the story and the twists.......this movie is about Hoffman and how he assumed the role as jigsaws accomplice, and they did a great job tying it in. Another exceptional addition!

Another Saw!!! by angie78090
I saw this movie last night during the Saw Fest that started earlier in the afternoon and after watching all of the previous Saw movies the anticipation was there for what was next. I really enjoyed this movie with all it's plot twists. I wasn't sure how much I would see of Tobin Bell but I wasn't disappointed. I like how it went into detail of how Hoffman became Jigsaw's accomplice as well as Agent Straum's relentless pursuit. Can't wait to add this to my collection when it hits dvd.

SAW V by SuzyIrishAngel
My "Must GO" rating is specifically for those who have seen AT LEAST "Saw 3" and Saw 4" because to go in an see 5 without some "back-up" or familiarity with the characters and who the BAD GUY is, or who we THINK it is and even THAT changes from movie to movie - leaves an unfamiliar viewer gong, "HUH?" so that seeing a couple of prequels brings SAW V t together BEAUTIFULLY. (With the exception of some of the subtle nuances you REALLY had to watch all the movies to get.) My recommendation is to see SAW V - but do make an attempt to catch a couple of the prequels - before you go. It'll tie it all together for you and THAT is a lot of the enjoyment of the SAW series!! THEN GO SEE SAW V AGAIN!! THEY'RE (I mean ALL OF 'EM) ARE THAT GOOD!! Suzy, Alameda, CA

Saw V Review by TEGGSRB18C1
There seems to be 2 dfferent Saw fans. People who like 1-3, and people who like 1-5. So basically if you liked Saw 4, you'll like Saw 5. Some people just don't like movies that don't have a solid ending that answeres all the questions. To me, I love it because it leaves open chances for a sequel. This is supposed to be the last Saw, go see it for yourself and decide wether you think Lionsgate/Twisted Pictures really wants this to be the last.......

Worth admission. by bridgetonfilmbuff
I think most people who enjoy SAW movies will enjoy this one. Of course, it will not best SAW 1, but it is a clever, gory, entertaining continuation (and clarification) of the Jigsaw story. The traps are clever, which play on new fears and ick(!)s, are sufficient to refresh the SAW story. Tobin Bell, back as Jigsaw, albeit in educational and gap-filling flashback sequences, impressed me with his acting prowess. In SAWs 2-4, Jigsaw retains his superiority solely because his victims lack patience and his apprentices lack foresight and compassion, and so in SAW 5, his successor is put to the test to see if he can maintain his tutor's "social project" and adhere to the rules just like the victims. Costys Mandylor, as Jigsaw-protege and FBI-mole Detective Hoffman, inhabits his character well. He'll do well in SAW 6, and I see him sufficiently capable at carrying the story into a SAW 7, if the writers are genius enough to carry on the franchise that far and still fill seats.

This was as good as the others. by jimmiss71
I am not that into the Saw series of movies but went with the kids, It was just as good as the four series before them. To me, it was a little hard to follow since 2 of the characters looked similar. The suspense, drama and gore was all there and kept you on your seat. This is certainly not a scary movie, but more of a freaky, eerie one. I would give it 4 stars!

Just seen SAW V Definiately Worth It!! by StayAlive13
The entire series of SAW everything just went so smoothly. All the audiences not only love the blood and gore but the smoothness of how all the events play out on key. This movie had the twist ive never seen before and it made the movie so great! Throughout the movie I never lost attention. And towards the end all the gaps were tied in and that to me was the best part. I suggest you see this movie in theatres as soon as possible. Can't wait for next Oct 24th

pretty good by klor555
I saw the midnight showing last night and this is saw isnt like any of the others. yes it still has plenty of fun games, and lots of gore. But i think the main point of this saw was to get everything to make sense from all the other saws. I feel hthe writeers of these movies felt they needed to get this one in there to answer every question, and the next saws will be back to normal full of twists and blood! Definatly a great movie though, as always!

If you are a fan you need to go! by thesalz
Another smart movie from the Saw series! Who would have thought Luke from Gilmour Girls would be a star in a horror movie? You need to see it to believe the plot and you- try to figure out what happens next. A realy twister- thank god somebody knows how to make smart movies these days!
