Who's in It: Sarah Silverman, Brian Posehn, Laura Silverman, Bob Odenkirk
The Basics: It's Silverman's one-woman show in which she delivers caustically funny thoughts on sex, race, religion, death, the Holocaust, rape, AIDS, 9/11 and every other inappropriate subject you can imagine.
What's the Deal? Here's a quick test to see whether you should see this movie: Did The Aristocrats get your underthings in a bunch? Like, so much so that you walked out in a big huff and demanded your money back? Did you just not "get" Mr. Show? Are the words "Wonder Showzen" gibberish to you? Then stay home and watch Judging Amy or whatever it is that bores like you do with your lives, because this movie is too good for you.
Why This Woman Matters: She doesn't walk the line between humor that is taboo and humor that is about those taboos she just smashes that line. And her punch lines are so dark and smart and cutting that it's disorienting. A joke about her grandmother surviving the Holocaust ("Excuse me," she says, "alleged Holocaust") is followed soon after by "Jewish people driving German cars
is really gay."
Other Weirdly Great Lines: "I don't care if you think I'm racist. I just want you to think I'm thin."
Safe, Adorable Movie You Can See Her in Instead, if This One Sounds Too Harsh: Rent

Grand Finale: She sings "Amazing Grace." But dirty. Now you're curious, right?
