The Basics: An opera singer is murdered onstage, and her corpse is reanimated by the murderer so she'll perform his "diabolical opera." That's when he calls on the piano tuner of earthquakes — don't ask me what that means — to tune the seven freaky musical automata that will accompany her. The opera singer, now an amnesiac, sees a familiarity in the piano tuner and falls for him. But is it meant to be? Only the Bizarro-World script knows for sure.

Three Great Tastes in One: Get ready for puppetry, live action and animation all mixed together. My favorite bit includes a bunch of gardeners performing their jobs like a ballet. And the automata music machines' borderline-repulsive construction — fungus, flywheels, teeth, bones and I don't know what else — has to be seen to be believed.
