Ferguson spotlights two massive mistakes: the looting that was allowed to continue, destroying Iraqi infrastructure and morale; and--far more revelatory -- the apocalyptically stupid decision to disband the Iraqi army, sending half a million angry soldiers into the streets.

No end in sight alright! by Igotothemoviesalot
Wow, I'm the first one to review this documentary. It was an arresting essay on what went wrong with the war in Iraq, focusing mainly on the events leading up to and immediately following the first months of the war in 2003. It's extremely well structured, with an introduction, a middle, and a conclusion. Needless to say, it's a toss-up between Rumsfeld and Bremer for the most idiotically responsible for the mess that Iraq has become. The events are presented in chronological order, which puts things in excellent perspective to better refresh our memories, with tons of war footage and interviews with soldiers, journalists, and high-ranking government officials involved with the (poor) planning and (poor) execution of the war. I mean, by the time we are told that an American girl right out of college with no municipal planning experience was given the task to create Baghdad's new traffic plan, we can only feel angrier at our government and sorrier for the Iraqis.

Excellent documentary that even the most stubborn neo-con CAN NOT dismiss. The mistakes and ignorance shown by the Administration are exposed here by those that were there and lived it. They do a great job of interviewing both military and gov't officials that were involved with every aspect of the take over and running of Iraq. The frustration on the faces of those that tried to stop what was happening is very telling. Please see this and stop listening to anymore "Iraq is going to be fine", fairy tales!

Go See This Film--Now!! by avsfan
One of the best docs I've seen on the war in Iraq and the dysfunctional Bush administration. Doesn't just say the war is a disaster, shows HOW things went so terribly wrong. A must-see!!

One-sided, crisp and telling . . . by fand21c
Knowing the film has a bias against the folks in power, our memories serve us well in the chronology with words spoken and events detailed. The hubris of the Bush foursome who started this sad adventure is rewarded constantly with bad news. Like the Resistance vs. the Nazi occupation of France, the "Insurgency" established its legitmacy in their many-Mosque-emergence after one ineptitude, then another and then . . . The British decamped their Iraq occupation awarded in 1918 by the League of Nations Madate . We will too. Very sad for all concerned.

Excellent, well documented by loisfreeman
This movie is a damning portrait of the Iraq War. It really shows how the initial hubris and mistakes made by the Bush Administration made the insurgency inevitable.
