Great inventive quirky funny movie for all ages by dan488
I'm 50 years old and went to this movie with my 14 year old and 18 year old, and we all loved it. It's got a creative sense of humor refreshing in these days of tired animated movies that mostly rely on bathroom humor or silly animals. Plus, it's got Will Ferrell!
Fun, Clever, Good Core Message by jackieyangwilliams
This is an entertaining movie with the good core message that everyone has creativity within them, not only those who are "designated" to be the creative ones. It's quick paced, adults will get the little comments on the side, and yes, it is a big commercial but that's okay. It re-inspires people to look at and play with Lego differently. When I asked my 8 year old if he thought it was "too long, too short, just right", he said "too short" because he wanted more.
LOVED IT! by jasmine174
What an unexpected treat this movie is. The story line is original, focusing on the perils of conformity. The writing is great and the animation, which gives the look of stop motion, is a visual treat. Loved everything about this movie!
absolutely AWESOME! by pbssproutmom
as the movie's theme song suggests.. Everything is Awesome! I took my 8yr old and we both enjoyed it immensely! I was very pleased with the underlying moral so to speak and life lesson. The ending was a complete surprise tho! a very wonderful movie that is fully deserved all the pre-release hype!
Don't LEt it GO - Just Go! by arbrone42
I must confess that I was not expecting to be blown away by an animated movie, but that's exactly what "The Lego Movie" did to me. I cannot predict what other cinematic releases will play out this year, but if I had a vote for Oscar nominations, this film would get one and not just for animated movie.
Its message is heartfelt, its action is well-coordinated, and its characters are fully developed. Children as well as adults will appreciate each aspect; adults picking up on the subtleties of language and children learning a few new (appropriate) adult words.
The music, animation, editing, and cinematography each grabbed my attention at different points but did not detract from the overall experience.
Sure, its plot is a not original although there are enough twists to give it new life; its message not particularly bold even if it is blatantly broadcast; and its symbolism unremarkable but completely appropriate. Yet this film earned my applause as it ended.
Great movie for the whole family by cyberholdings
I have taken my kids, who are both 7, to a lot of kid's movies and i was genuinely impressed with this one. Everyone in the whole theater was laughing and having a great time. The kids were singing a long and cracking up.. it really was a great movie. Lego did a brilliant job bringing this to life. Adults and kids can share the same feeling that the story brought to heart in the end.
Great humor for all ages by davidrberg
The humor in this movie is fantaaaaaaaaaaastic. Good for all ages as well.
Hollywood just proved it is possible to make a genuinely funny move without using the F word 1000 times per hour.
The ending was a bit of a surprise, but, that is OK too.
The plot and script are simple, but, hey simple things appeal to all.
Too much of a good thing by Ethel005
Way too much going on all at once. The graphics & special effects are amazing but all the colors & movement are a bit too much of a good thing.
The live character part at the end was sweet. Would have been nice to introduce that part earlier & work it into the story line.
The Lego Movie - Well Done. by wc623
Watching this movie was like watching a child's home video given an extremely large budget, including big name actors and unlimited access to Lego bricks. Everyone I know that has seen it, loved it - boy, girls, and parents. This is a must-go-and-watch in the theater, then buy the Bluray and watch it some more. This is a multi-layer cornucopia of fun, artistry, and comedy. It was well written with humor and wit. The Lego structures were creatively designed and awesome to watch some of the enormity and scale, large and miniature. I particularly enjoyed the underlying message, and creativity of it all. The comedy and gags were also entertaining.
34 years old, and it is still hilarious by tigey
The production did a wonderful job on this movie. Lots of comedy, a little bit or moral, and more pop culture references than you can shake a stick at.
