One of the things making Goon so enjoyable is its fairy-tale suggestion that all humanity's violent impulses can be exorcized in a Zamboni-groomed ice rink.

The charm of Goon is that Doug Glatt (Scott) is a genial guy from a nice family. Just because he hands out concussions doesn't mean he dislikes anybody. He's just happy to be wearing a uniform.

Hockey Movie Must See by jacihirschfeld
Not only was this movie really funny and extremely entertaining, but they did a great job of showing a real side of hockey. Great casting - you couldn't find a better Goon. So glad I had a chance to see this in theaters!

bloody fun by westcoasttraveler
It is a funny movie that mixes the comedy with action very well. Sean does a great job as playing a loveable simple minded guy who just happens to be great at beating the crap out of people. its a fun movie and i would of given it a must go but the raunchy language(over 200 f bombs)distracts and takes away from the movie. but still worth seeing.

Very Entertaining by Tiberius05
A big change of roles for Seann William Scott and he excels. My only beef with the film is the lack of resolution for the family turmoil, but otherwise very entertaining. Not for the squeamish.

Enjoyable but not for the squeamish by RandytheMovieFan
I can't vouch for the accuracy of the hockey scenes, but the story is a mix of blood, violence, humor, raunchiness, sweetness, family values and blood (yes I need to say it twice) that oddly come together in almost perfect harmony. The movie hangs on Seann William Scott, who is in almost every scene, and he is very good. His portrayal of a simple guy just trying to succeed in life and love has a Rocky-like quality to it. The music also deserves mention because it lends an operatic, over the top air to several key scenes. No Oscars here, just a lot more fun than expected.

Goon! by Ressemkered
I love Sean William Scott. I love Hockey. Obviously seeing Goon was a no brainer. I don't remember it going into Theaters so I figured Id give it a shot. And boy was i correct. This movie has everything you need, great acting, action, romance, jealousy, and a good ending, Sean is a bouncer at a local club, and loves his job. Him and his friend go to a hockey game and get into a fight with one of the players. Of course, Sean beats the crap out of him and the coach notices. The movie is about him going to a team to be the "Goon," someone who just fights, and his relationship with his friends, his teammates, and his parents. The fight scenes are realistic and satisfying and you really feel for the actors. Very funny also! Just a warning, Sean's friend in the movie, cusses literally every other word so parents bewarned if letting kids watch or watching with kids. If you love hockey, you will love this movie. Definitely go pick this one up and enjoy.
