Dark Tide, directed with hopelessly flagging energy by John Stockwell, barely musters up enough interest to be thuddingly bad.

It's a murky sea that surrounds Dark Tide. A soap opera with shark attacks, picture contains a few alarming sequences but loses its grip on its material -- and the viewer -- in a swirling vortex of visual confusion.

Despite a talented cast lead by Halle Berry, director John Stockwell fails to take more than a bite out of this lackluster shark thriller.

Where's the light? by patrickbutman
Right from the beginning you can tell that Berry and Martinez must have realized what they had fallen into. Not even an attempt to act what so ever. The movie might be fun enough to watch had you been able to see anything that was going on. The water shots are so dark you can't even tell what is going on or who might be in danger. Horribly shot, especially from someone who at least got the scenery right, and filmed beautifully in two other water based pics. Surprisingly bad!

Halle Berry didn't show her best in this. This movie is more like documentary and boring. I would wait for dollar Red Box DVD to rent than watching it in theater.
