Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star Review

Messages: There's a vague message about "following your dreams," though it's not very well-defined; Bucky's "dream" ends up being about winning the girl and not much more.

Role models: Bucky is very naïve and sweet and treats people kindly, but he's such a cartoon character that it's hard to make a case for him as a role model.

Violence: During the opening credits, some farmers fire a shotgun at a scarecrow. Otherwise, there are some threats, but no real violence.

Sex: The movie takes place in the porn industry; there's consistent, crass sex talk and sexual innuendo, though little actual sex. There's some nudity; several different women are shown topless, and there's a very brief flash of Bucky's tiny "equipment," as well as more than one shot of his naked behind. Some characters discuss masturbating, and viewers see some examples of this without showing any actual genitals. Bucky only has sex with his girlfriend, but he ejaculates at the very sight of a naked woman; viewers see the result of this in various places afterward.

Language: Though Bucky doesn't swear, other characters do -- expect frequent use of words including "f--k," "s--t," "c--k," "prick," "p---y," "t-ts," "ass," "dick," "whore," "hell," "pube," "son of a bitch," "oh my God," and more.

Consumerism: Bucky mentions "Doritos Cool Ranch" more than once, and some actual chips are seen in one scene.

Drinking, drugs and smoking: A supporting character is seen drinking and taking pills.
