Iffy for 16+
Raunchy sequel recycles same formula, minus some laughs.
What Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that although American Reunion tries to recapture the success of the original -- and equally raunchy -- American Pie, it doesn't quite succeed. What it does succeed at is being extremely crude and crass; there's both male and female nudity (including an extended shot of a man's penis), very suggestive sex scenes, and nearly constant talk of sex. There's also lots of drinking (including a very drunk 18-year-old), some drug use, and nearly constant swearing -- it's easier to try to count the sentences without profanity than to quantify the curses heard here. If teens have already seen the earlier movies in the series and can handle the content, then this won't be a departure; but if they're not, something less over-the-top would be a better pick.
- Families can talk about what teens think of sex and what parents think of teens having sex. It's also a good opportunity for parents to answer whatever questions teens may have, both about values surrounding sex and about safe sex.
- Do you think American Reunion is raunchier than the original? How does it compare to other over-the-top comedies in recent years? What other movies and TV shows reach for a laugh this way?
- How have the characters changed since their high school days? How are their relationships different? Do you think this is a realistic look at how friendships and marriage change over the years?
The good stuff
Messages: Amid the raunchy humor is the message that friends and couples need to make the effort to maintain relationships, whether it's the occasional night out with the guys or scheduling time for a husband and wife to be alone without the kids.
Role models: The characters here are mostly trying to do the right thing -- even if they might try to do it after a few too many drinks. They stick up for their friends (even the most obnoxious ones), and the guys remain devoted to their wives despite many temptations to stray.
What to watch for
Violence: Several people get into a drunken brawl outside a party, with plenty of punches, kicks, and knock-down, drag-out fighting. Some couples get into heated arguments.
Sex: Male and female nudity, including bare breasts, male backsides, and an extended look at one man's penis. Several sex scenes include vigorous thrusting and suggestions of oral sex, given by both genders. Both men and women are interrupted masturbating, and there's a not-so-brief look at online porn (with sound effects). Plus nearly constant talk about sex -- who's having it, who isn't, who wants to, and how -- usually in the crudest possible terms.
Language: Every possible swear word -- from "f--k" to "s--t" to "p---y" and more (including "c--k," "d--k," "ass," "hell," "oh my God," and more) -- is used, multiple times and often in creative permutations.
Consumerism: Apple products make an appearance, as do Chevy cars and online retailer Amazon.
Drinking, drugs and smoking: Anywhere the crowd is gathering, there's plenty of drink, including beer, shots, wine and hard liquor. Several scenes feature underage drinking, including a long sequence in which a very drunk high school girl celebrates her 18th birthday. One woman lights up a joint, and another group passes around a bong at a party.

Definite Must by jenkins01
I won't spoil anything and I want to say I'm glad the previews didn't give away all the good parts. It was great to see the gang back together...ALL of them. I feel as though we've grown up together. I had high expectations and was not disappointed. Great job Universal!
American Reunion. by glasseyes
If you like the other American Pie movies, then you will probably like this one. Very crude humor, with a ***** flash on the screen. That was a little more than I cared to see. Sex was on everyone's mind for over half of the movie it seemed. Took away from a decent story line. Probably is geared for the college male in mind.
A+ Follow Up To The Rest Of The American Pie Movies by Darkola
If your a fan of the original movies, and followed them all throughout the years, then this is a no brainer, as it continues the lifes of all the old characters with the same kind of humor you come to laugh at throughout the rest of the movies. It was great to see the whole gang back together again, and the way they reflected back to some of the past movies, this movie has done a really great job of tieing it all together continuing the laughs we come to look forward to in these movies. All the characters did a great job of acting and playing their parts, the movie was well done, the laughs were plentiful, I'd give this 3 of 4 stars myself, and would recommend this to those who enjoy this type of humor, Warning though, if you didnt enjoy the other American Pie movies, then dont bother seeing this one, as it is the same line of humor ..... Enjoy the laughs :)

Great Movie: Great Throwback! by angelatjohnston
This movie was just as good as the original movies. They did an amazing job writing this movie to keep it just as interesting as the originals. The humor was the same and they found new ways to bring up those awkward situations.
It is definitely a movie for our generation! From the music to the comedy, it relates so directly to our High School experience. Great nostalgia.
Definitely a funny movie if you've seen all them... by Jank Hank
From day one. If you just recently saw all the previous ones, then it just won't have the same effect as it would on someone that saw them when they first came out, years ago. Lots of nostalgia and things I could relate to

Awesome conclusion to the series, funny from beginning to the end. Can't wait to see it again.
Not even close to the level of the first two movies by swoop7
I was very excited to see this movie hit the screen and I was even more disappointed. First, some of the previews you see on TV are not actually in the movie....strike 1....then they insert the "entire cast" in such a way that they contribute nothing to the movie other than giving the movie people the ability to make that claim...strike 2....then finally, it seemed as though they filmed a bunch of small scenes and just tossed them all together to make the movie..regardless of how much they had to do with the over all story line...I won't give scene details for spoiler reasons, but that was strike 3....
I love the first two movies...not so much the 3rd...and this one...well it just falls way short. Very disappointed and very surprised at how much praise it is getting from those that attended...but each to their own I guess.
