New 'Zero Dark Thirty' Trailer Shows the Hunt for Bin Laden as Only the 'Hurt Locker' Director Can

Oct 11, 2012

Over the course of her career, Kathryn Bigelow's movies have grown further and further apart. Not in tone, but in actual time it takes her to get a movie off the ground. Sure, Zero Dark Thirty isn't exactly hot on the heels of 2008's The Hurt Locker, but thankfully we're not in for a seven-plus year wait for a new Bigelow movie about the extreme lives of men and women.

Zero Dark Thirty is, of course, Bigelow's film about the Navy Seal team that ended up taking out Osama bin Laden. It features a pretty ridiculous amount of stars, including, but hardly limited to, Joel Edgerton, Mark Strong, Kyle Chandler, Jennifer Ehle, Jessica Chastain and Harold Perrineau. It hits theaters on December 19, 2012, and is bound to be a big title all throughout awards season.

Check out the new trailer, which is all about establishing the scale and stakes of this landmark event, over at Apple.
