It’s been more than eight years since we first met up with legendary anchorman Ron Burgundy – eight very long years. The good news is that Burgundy is back – and now we can tell you the exact date Will Ferrell will reclaim his seat behind the desk and in front of the camera.
December 20, exactly one year from today, is the magic date you need to circle on your calendar. It’s going to be a long 52 weeks… but somehow we’ll soldier on.
Ferrell is set to return and will be joined by Steve Carrell, Paul Rudd, Christina Applegate, and there’s a rumor floating around that Kristen Wiig will also be involved. Sounds like a recipe for success.
Expect lots more on Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues throughout 2013.
Meanwhile, Arnold Schwarzenegger is set to kick off his big return to the screen with next month’s release of The Last Stand. It’s just one of several projects the former Governator is working on, and we’ve got the official word on when another one of them – Ten – will be landing in theaters.
According to Coming Soon, Ten will make its theatrical debut on January 24, 2014 – roughly a year after The Last Stand.
The film, directed by End of Watch’s David Ayer, features Schwarzenegger as the leader of an elite DEA taskforce. When they take down a cartel safehouse, someone starts assassinating the members of the squad one by one. If you’re thinking this sounds sort of like a modern update of Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None, we think alike.
Putting that aside, we’re just thrilled to see Schwarzenegger back making movies.
What do you think? Are you excited about either of these projects?
