Your Favorite Thing Today: Artist Reimagines 'The NeverEnding Story' for a New Generation

Dec 17, 2013

Eidos Montreal artist Nicolas Francoeur, who works for the studio behind games like Deus Ex and the upcoming Thief reboot, has reimagined Wolfgang Petersen’s The NeverEnding Story for a new generation. Luckdragon Falkor isn’t as adorable here as he was in the film, but he looks like a badass you don’t want to mess with when navigating Fantasia.

We’re getting steampunk/sci-fi vibes from the Childlike Empress’ new costume. Atreyu doesn’t look terribly different from the film, but his status as warrior is perhaps more obvious. And there’s his horse Artax. We’re already crying thinking about him being lost in the swamp. Creatures from Fantasia also get a makeover, including the Rock Biter who looks like a crazed version of Hulk in Francoeur’s work.

Take a trip down memory lane and enjoy these interesting character revisions that are sure to arouse nostalgia for… some Limahl! [Spotted via Kotaku]
