Bryan Singer Tweets First Image from 'X-Men: Days of Future Past'

Dec 05, 2012

Okay, so it's not some explosive action sequence or Jennifer Lawrence in all her blue nekked glory, but what did you really expect for a film that's not even in production yet? Technically, though, this script page that Bryan Singer tweeted is the first official image from X-Men: Days of Future Past -- most likely revealing the quote that'll appear on-screen at the start of the movie.

First, the image:

The quote comes from Charles Darwin's Origins of the Species, and it reads: "As new species are formed through natural evolution, others will become rarer and rarer, and finally extinct. The forms which stand in closest competition with those undergoing modification and improvement will naturally suffer most."

As previously reported, X-Men: Days of Future Past will borrow some ideas from the popular story arc featured in the comics that merges two different X-Men timelines, making it so those from the original X-Men movie universe and X-Men: First Class can all coexist in the same movie. Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Nicholas Hault will all be returning for the sequel, due in theaters on July 18, 2014.
