Watch: If 'Mad Max' Faced a Zombie Apocalypse, It Might Look Like 'Wyrmwood'

Watch: If 'Mad Max' Faced a Zombie Apocalypse, It Might Look Like 'Wyrmwood'

Nov 27, 2012

We half expected to see Bellflower director Evan Glodell climb out of the Medusa-like car in the opening of the teaser for Aussie indie zombie flick Wyrmwood. The Mad Max references are clear as day in the post-apocalyptic movie, which is currently looking for funding on Indiegogo. The filmmakers are a third of the way through their "retina-blistering" version of "Mad Max meets Dawn of the Dead," and they hope it will become the next piece of Oz-ploitation cult cinema that fans will be talking about for years to come.

Dustups in a desert (or deserted) landscape? Check. Ravenous zombies? Check. Homemade body armor and a crazy car? Check. The action and gore levels seem about right, and we're curious to see more Wyrmwood. If you're inclined to support a flesh-munching, crowd-funding project for the holidays, head to the film's campaign page and learn more. In the meantime, enjoy this seven-minute clip to get a feel for things. [Spotted via BoingBoing]
