New 'Wolverine' Motion Poster Rains Badass All Over Your Screen

Dec 13, 2012

Here's a new motion poster for The Wolverine from the film's international site featuring Hugh Jackman's Wolverine overlooking what appears to be Tokyo. It's raining, he's wielding a samurai sword, and we can only imagine what sorts of trouble he'll be getting into from here.

Check it:

The poster itself is dark and moody -- it almost looks like a video game, too -- and it's a nice little tease before the film's first trailer, which may arrive on Superbowl Sunday if we're guessing. You can also scope out the regular poster without the motion graphics below.

And here's your synopsis: Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.

The Wolverine hits theaters on July 26, 2013.
