Will Smith Talks More Deadshot, Says the 'Suicide Squad' Cast Is Still Texting Each Other Daily

Dec 06, 2016

The recent Suicide Squad movie was certainly divisive; critics weren't crazy about it, but fans seemed to dig it. Say what you will, one of the highlights of the supervillain team-up was Will Smith's Deadshot. A notorious Batman villain with a wicked shot, Deadshot was introduced in Suicide Squad as a complicated and conflicted criminal who's looking to right some wrongs, especially when it comes to his kid.

While doing the press rounds for his newest movie Collateral Beauty, Fandango asked Smith when we'll see Deadshot again, and while DC's newest supervillain is still unsure of when he'll be back in costume, he did reveal the Suicide Squad cast is still very much in contact with one another... daily.

"I have no clue -- whenever they send me something," Smith said with regards to when we might see Deadshot again. "I loved playing Deadshot. Every once in awhile you get one of those characters that sits on you like a well-tailored suit. I absolutely love that group of people. We actually still have a Suicide Squad group text. So there's like 15 of us on it and we all keep in touch ... ya know, the drama of the day -- I won't go into it. but we just got like 6 or 7. Cara [Delevingne] keeps it very, very exciting."

Smith will have multiple shots to show up as Deadshot again in the near future, be it as a cameo in Zack Snyder's Justice League next year, or in Ben Affleck's Batman movie the following year, the latter of which makes the most sense.
