Kickstart This: 'White Walls Say Nothing,' a Documentary About the Power of Street Art

Oct 05, 2012

One of the great things about Kickstarter is that it provides a venue of exposure for films that you may never hear about otherwise. Case in point White Walls Say Nothing, a documentary about street art in Buenos Aires.

Now, you're probably asking yourself why you should even care about Argentinian street art. This isn't another Exit Through the Gift Shop looking at the evolution of art and commercialism. This is a documentary about how one city has spent years using graffiti to symbolize freedom of expression under a government that regularly alternated between democracy and dictatorship.

The filmmakers behind it have actually been filming for two years already, so this isn't a project that needs help getting off the ground, it just needs help crossing the finish line. You can check out the first trailer for the film below, and even if the subject matter doesn't interest you, at the very least you'll be treated to an eyeful of incredible artwork, some of which you can actually buy from the White Walls Say Nothing Kickstarter page.
