A Miami Beach artist who creates grotesquely unique taxidermy art has been arrested and charged with smuggling wildlife skins and other remains into the U.S. Enrique Gomez De Molina is facing a possible five-year prison term and hefty fines for being involved with exotic animal trafficking activities that date back to 2009. Cobras, hornbills, and orangutans are just a few of the animals Molina used in his art — a startling and strange hybrid of various creatures. Some of the works have sold for up to $80,000, and a recent exhibition at Art Basel drew the attention of the U.S. Attorney's Office.
We can't help but imagine Molina's monstrosities as the inspiration for a new Syfy Original, battling alongside Sharktopus, Dinoshark, and Gatoroid in a mega-disaster flick. Peek at Molina's creations below, and let us know if you agree. Leave us your picks for new movie/creature titles too.
