2011 looks to be a busy year for Steven Spielberg. Not only does the filmmaker have two films coming out that he directed (War Horse, The Adventures of Tintin), but he also produced a bunch of stuff, like Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Super 8, Cowboys and Aliens, and two TV shows, Falling Skies and Terra Nova. Busy much?
While word is still out on all of those projects, we thought it might be fun to ignore the films for once and focus on Spielberg's two upcoming television show, both of which borrow aspects from his previous movies. First we have Falling Skies (watch a trailer for it here), which is set in a world that's been invaded (and destroyed) by an alien invasion, and follows various survivors as they fight to stay alive. That show arrives on TNT this June, and feels a lot like Spielberg's War of the Worlds remake. I like to call this one The Walking Dead-lite
The other show, Terra Nova, follows a family from the future who are transported back in time to a prehistoric community in an attempt to start life over again. Naturally, all is not well and good because there are a crazy amount of dinosaurs running around. Not surprisingly the show immediately gives off a strong Jurassic Park vibe, which is evident in this brand new trailer too.
War of the Worlds vs. Jurassic Park. Alien invasion vs. deadly dinosaurs. Which show has the best chance of survival? Sound off below ...
