Update: Looks like this is a hoax story, as EW, which was said to be the source of the story, claims it's not real. And yeah, we're actually pretty bummed about that. [via First Showing]

Recent appearances on Saturday Night Live prove Mike Myers and Dana Carvey can still rock out pretty hard as Wayne and Garth, but is there enough juice left creatively for an entire Wayne's World movie? Apparently so as Entertainment Weekly [via JoBlo] reports that Mike Myers has finished a first draft of Wayne's World 3, which will wisely pick up years later as Wayne and Garth attempt to cope with the fact that everything has shifted online.
The story will primarily focus on "Wayne and Garth coping with the new era of music, transitioning from access cable to streaming Internet (ala YouTube) and Wayne balancing his marriage to Cassandra." Earlier this year Dana Carvey confirmed he'd be down with reprising the role of Garth, but with Myers also working on another Austin Powers movie, we imagine the better script will go before cameras first.
Which would you rather see: Wayne's World 3 or another Austin Powers movie? While you contemplate the more entertaining '90s property, here's Myers and Carvey's latest turn as Wayne and Garth on SNL, where they stopped by to make their 2011 Oscar predictions.
