It’s a bit of a slow news day around these parts as most of America is busy honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., but we’re still prowling the Interweb for cool things to brighten the day of those of you who are stuck in an office.
Things like this very cool YouTube video featuring a whopping 64 horror films in five minutes. I wasn’t a math major in college, but even I can figure out that’s a whole lot of blood, guts, and jump-scares in a very compressed timeframe.
YouTube user Hatinhand posted this massive and well-edited compilation late last week. It tackles a plethora of classic and modern genre films by breaking them down into three subcategories: Haunted Houses and Ghost Stories, Angles and Demons, and Killers and Slashers. Each segment is accompanied by music and features countless clips from films like The Exorcist through to more obscure offerings like Triangle. It tends to skew a little modern for my liking (why feature footage from the mediocre Texas Chainsaw remake and not Tobe Hooper’s far more impressive original film?), and I’m still not sure why anyone wants to celebrate Constantine, but overall the clip is still sure to please fright fans.
Check it out below and see what you think – there’s one minor spoiler (for Triangle) in the first section, but otherwise the video does a nice job of highlighting cool scenes without ruining the films as a whole. Click here for a full list of the films featured.
