Stuck in a rut on this Wednesday afternoon? We’ve got three new trailers that should brighten up your day.
First up, a teaser trailer for Oliver Stone’s upcoming feature Savages. Taylor Kitsch and Aaron Johnson star as two Laguna Beach marijuana dealers who are forced to take on a vicious Mexican drug cartel in order to save their shared girlfriend Ophelia (Blake Lively) after the cartel abducts her.
It’s hard to get a real feel for the film from this clip (which is incredibly short), and Collider is dead on when they mention that all of the footage looks like something straight out of a Tony Scott movie, but we’re still intrigued by Savages. Maybe it’s the cast, which also features Salma Hayek, Benicio Del Toro, John Travolta, and Uma Thurman.
Savages opens on July 6th. (Updated with full trailer)
Woody Allen is back with another new comedy, this one entitled To Rome with Love.
I’m hardly the world’s biggest Allen fan (okay, I’m not a fan at all…), but I can appreciate that a lot of people enjoy his work. I imagine those people will be pleased with this new trailer – which finds the writer and director once again in front of the camera as well.
The plot details are a closely guarded secret at this point, but we do know that the film is filled with big name actors – including Jesse Eisenberg, Penelope Cruz, Alec Baldwin, Roberto Begnini, and Ellen Page.
From Rome with Love washes up on American shores on June 22nd. Enjoy the trailer below. [via IndieWire]
Finally, it’s back to the action with another kick-ass trailer for Gareth Evans’ The Raid (or The Raid: Redemption here in America. Worst amended title ever). This is the UK trailer for the film, which features tons of bone-breaking and bullet-blasting as a group of elite cops must fight their way up through 30 floors of deadly criminals to take on a crime boss.
The Raid: Redemption is currently playing various venues around the country (with more on the way in the weeks ahead), but if you haven’t seen it yet, this clip should get your adrenaline pumping until it hits your town. [via Dread Central]
